If you are interested in adopting a different type of rescued companion animal,
check regularly with your local shelter, or search online for a rescue group
that rescues the type of animal you are interested in. There are many!

There are LOTS of rescue groups with all types of animals who need good homes.
Unfortunately, there are far more animals than there are good homes.

Once word gets out that you take in a particular type of animal, they'll find their way to you!
